About Walter Calahan

Calahan is a professional photographer with broad experience and many publication credits —including The New York Times Magazine, Boys’ Life, Time, Fortune, Business Week, Smithsonian, Sports Illustrated, Bon Appétit, Family Fun, Computer World, PC World, Wired, Rolling Stone, and Vanity Fair. His series of portraits for the New York Time Magazine “Questions for . . .” column included Terry McAuliffe, John McCain, Marion Barry, and others. His photos have been used in publications and advertisement for General Electric, Yamaha, American Express, Carroll Lutheran Village, Messiah College, The Washington Performing Art Society, Hillel Foundation, Harvard Business School, University of Miami Business School, Babson College, and others.


Mr. Calahan is currently teaching a course on the “History of Photography” at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. He is also teaches both digital and film photography at Stevenson University and McDaniel College.
