LPCA Year End Meeting – June 27, 2013

PLEASE NOTE: NO GENERAL CLUB MEETING JUNE 13; THERE WILL BE A CLUB BOARD/OFFICERS MEETING JUNE 13

The LPC 2012-2013 program and competition year has drawn to a close. Thanks to everyone for their active participation! Our summer schedule has one meeting each month, on the fourth Thursdays of June, July and August. Each of these are “member meetings” where we have not brought in outside speakers or judges.

Please plan to attend our June 27 year end meeting where all members attending will vote to select the LPC Photo of the Year. Tony Moringello posted the names of eligible photographers in his recent post to the LPC Yahoo Group. We’ll confirm the room number shortly and post it on our website.

Finally, the club is asking for all members to volunteer some time to help with the smooth functioning of the club. This can either be as a club board/officer or as someone who assists and shares in the duties. We’ve mentioned at recent club meetings that some current club officers either have already left or can’t continue with the position for next club year.

I am willing to serve another year as club president. Ginny Chandler has volunteered to take over treasurer and we thank her very much! And we give a big thanks to Michelle Moomey for handling treasurer for this club year. Thanks again to Patt Wattanasupt, Paul Wormeli and Jon Jelling for stepping up to assist covering webmaster duties along with Chad Blair.

Also thanks go to Ken Martin for leading Field Trips and Jennifer Arnett for Exhibitions. Jennifer has already moved out of state and Ken has served longer than two years already! We thank Art Hughes for representing LPC at Nature Visions, and since he’s moving out of state we need to replace him. Thanks to Jeff Schweiger who will assist with Nature Visions but we need another person to help.

Other vacant board/officer positions are:  Vice President; Newsletter Editor; Membership Coordinator.

So, you can see that we have many opportunities for you to volunteer! It may also be that the membership in general does not see value in a Newsletter for instance, and the club may want to consider eliminating that activity. Either way, we value your input and hope to have some good discussion during our June 27 meeting.

Meanwhile, Happy Shooting!!
