LPC Members Class on Color Management Sat Jan 19

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone was inspired by last night’s excellent lecture on the aesthetic aspects of creative print media. Not surprisingly, the topic of color management came up…albeit briefly.

If you would like to learn more about color management, just a reminder I will be leading a free 4 hr workshop next Saturday Jan 19 at the Cascades Library from 10:30-2:30.

We will thoroughly explore everything you will need to set up your own personalized calibrated, color managed workflow. Problems with white balance? Got ya covered. Monitor or Printer colors messed up. You’ll learn how to fix that too.

First we will fully explore the topic of White Balance.

Next we will discus five practical concepts key to color management:
-Color Models/Modes like RGB and LAB
-Color Spaces like sRGB, Adobe RGB (1998), ProPhotoRGB, and Monitor/Printer Profiles
-Converting between color spaces (Rendering Intent)
-Soft Proofing
-Camera/Monitor/Printer Calibration & Profiling

Finally, Armed with these key concepts, you will learn to set up your own personnal color managed workflow via 5 critical settings spanning your:
-Operating System
-Camera
-RAW Converter
-Editing Software
-Printer

That’s it! Five Concepts plus Five Settings equals one trouble free workflow!

I will also have an ebook on CD available so you can relax on note taking.

Hope to see you there…please RSVP so we can best accommodate you. Bring your camera and manual.
