LPC News for June

Loudoun Photo Club had its final judged competition on May 28. Corey Hilz did a fine job highlighting the great work done by members of our club and conveying advice on ways to improve our skills in the future. Competiton Results

Prior to the competition, Mary Austin-Keller officiated her last meeting as our club President.  She has done a wonderful job during her tenure but has decided to take a well earned break from the duties.  Club members stepped up to volunteer for various positions with Denise Silva entering as President of LPC for the coming year.

The new LPC board will meet soon to set up the End of Year meeting / competition.

Details for the EOY meeting will be posted soon.   List of eligible photos ofr the EOY competition

Meadowlark Submission Info at a Glance

IMPT Meadowlark Info + REQUIRED volunteering:

    • You can enter 6 images max
    • Mat can be a max of 16×20, must have a white backing board and a white over mat (the one with the hole cut in it)
    • while you can have bigger images for meadowlark than club competitions, please make sure your image can support the enlargement.  a problem in the past has been soft images from enlarging.  yes, they do care.
    • last year’s acceptance rate was about 25%.  i’m serious.  so please prepare yourself emotionally (I’m speaking from <bleep> experience).
    • Check the border rules for the mats, they really will check!!!
    • YOU MUST VOLUNTEER AT MEADOWLARK IN ORDER TO ENTER.  We’re not trying to be mean or nazis or anything.  but part of our agreement to be in meadowlark is to staff the raffle booth and the club table.  other clubs volunteer to staff ticketing, etc.  part of the benefit of being a board member is you do not have to volunteer, though I know I personally help work the club table when i’m there and can.  otherwise unless you have a medical condition or something of similar import that prevents you from volunteering, then it is a firm requirement (contact me and oscar if you think you fall into this category BEFOREHAND).  The number of hours each person volunteers depends on the number of people who enter and therefore # of volunteers.  We absolutely have to cover the raffle table.
    • Oscar will have a signup sheet for people to volunteer.  there are time slots, first come, first pick.
    • website for meadowlark (READ THE RULES, they are ultra picky): http://www.meadowlarkphotoexpo.org/
